Notice to all relevant persons

The Malta Financial Services Authority (‘MFSA‘) has issued a Circular to provide an update on the interim measures adopted by the MFSA for the processing of physical documentation in view of COVID-19.

In its Circular, the MFSA notified all relevant persons that all documentation that is ordinarily requested original physical format and which, pursuant to the ‘Interim Measures’ was submitted electronically, is now expected to be submitted to MFSA in physical form by mail or courier.

The MFSA said that it expects all such documentation to be submitted by not later than 15 February 2021 and that failure to meet the stipulated deadline may lead to the MFSA considering regulatory action against such persons. It also said that extensions to this deadline shall only be considered for extraordinary circumstances.
