Overview
Malta companies are set up in accordance with the Companies Act of 1995. The Act distinguishes between a private limited liability company and a public limited liability company. In general, a limited liability company is one where the personal responsibility of shareholders is limited to the amount, if any, unpaid on the shares held.
Some of the advantages of registering a Malta Company are expediency in set up (a company may be set up in 48 hours), no exchange control regulations, enjoying EU free movement, low costs and highly professional services.
There are also a number of tax advantages as Malta has one of the most efficient tax regimes within the EU. Due to the nature of the existing regulations, Malta is considered as being a highly reputable jurisdiction in which companies are incorporated.
From a practical perspective, English is an official language in Malta and it is generally used as the business language, making Malta more conducive towards international business.
Main Requirements
Malta Company Requirements

On the other hand, a public liability company has to have at least Eur1,200 of share capital with a minimum of 20% paid up. In both cases, the said capital may be denominated in any currency.
