Overview
Malta has been described as a ‘flag of confidence for Superyachts’ due to the numerous benefits both financial and otherwise on offer under the Maltese legal jurisdiction. Pleasure yacht and superyacht administration is regulated by the Malta Commercial Yacht Code which offers specific guidelines on the interpretation of the design, operational and safety requirements within the framework of local and national maritime regulation.

Minimum Safe Manning Certificate
A commercially registered superyacht of more than 24 metres in length will be issued with a Minimum Safe Manning Certificate following receipt and review of the application for a safe manning document. Commercial yachts of not more than 24 metres in length are not issued with a Minimum Safe Manning Certificate but shall comply with the minimum manning requirements as set in the Commercial Yacht Code.
